Watching someone else go through the process can open our eyes to a bad habit or poor form that we've fallen into and the aha moment comes in and slaps us awake. Just watched this again (almost 3 years). I don't do turning everyday, I dabble in other crafts. I struggled the other week, turning a piece so this was a good refresher for me. As a novice turner I know that if I get it close, I can sand the rest out. Obviously if I can turn the wood to a nice finish then save a load of time and effort from sanding or even items that have exploded from an incorrect cut approach. It's a shame I can't like it twice.

For years my method has been to find somebody who is my "go-to" person when learning new techniques, (sharpening, dovetails, box joints, etc.) I've been subscribed for a while but have recently decided to get into bowls after years of doing pens. You are now my "go-to" bowl guy. :-)
