Peak District Walk - The Great Ridge & Hope Valley

This video was shot using a GoPro Hero 3 and it follows our walk along The Great Ridge. We walked up on to Lose Hill, along the Ridge to Mam Tor passing Back Tor and Hollin's Cross along the Way. We then headed for Winnats Pass, Cave Dale and finally past the Hope Valley Cement Works (Eye Sore) back to Hope.

I remember first time me and my uncle did the great ridge. Was only a couple of years ago, but we parked up in mam nick and did rushups edge first and got soaked. Half an hour later, we were on top of mam tor and bone dry, such is the unpredictable weather of the Peak District.

Good stuff Dean, its great your championing the Peak District.There's a ton of vids on the Lake District and rightly so but from a Scottish point of view its great to see other areas of England.Would like to see it covered in snow.

Stunning area mate, ive just done ben lomond today thick with snow tho lol, the gopro is good im sampling a cheaper version by hitachi which appears just as good lol vid up soon on that, thanks for sharing a lovely walk, paul

Today I walked the Great Ridge form Castleton to Back Tor, Lose Hill, and back to Mam Tor and Rushup Edge. It was very icy, all the sandstone pavements were covered in ice or snow. Did you know it was W. A. Poucher that first named the ridge from Mam Tor to Lose Hill as the Great Ridge ?
