Milldale is one of my favourites, as it Parwich. Both have special significance to this Buxton Born Kiwi.

I wouldn't include Bakewell. It's a busy stressful town..
Would include Great Longstone & Winster.

What? No Parwich - absolutely archetypal, peaceful, unblemished English village? No Foolow with its duckpond? No Great Longstone, with its own dairy and milk herd and one of the finest churches in Derbyshire? Ok, it's all subjective, but it's odd how those are not in the list. And whilst Hathersage is indeed surrounded by beautiful countryside and has a great pub in the Little John, it has rafts of ugly, out-of-character, modern houses on its hillside and a main road right through it. And Bakewell, though a pleasant market town, is not a village! All that said, lovely photography, thanks for uploading. 🙂

Been there too.
Steped upon the mountain top triangle with my friend Julian M.W.D. also.

Surprised to not see Mildale in there. I know its small, but it links a lot of white peaks walks and has a lot of character.

I had a feeling Castleton would be number 1.

Very subjective, of course. And Bakewell, though it has some positives, is a rip-off, expensive town (not village) with two jammed main roads going through it which is misery on weekends, especially in the summer. (There is an ideal route for a bypass, but some idiots won't allow it.) There are other glorious villages that I would have on the list, rather than Hayfield, Hathersage and the traffic-jam that is Castleton.

First of all beautiful Bakewell's a Town not a Village, secondly Hayfield really ? You've obviously not been there in January, either Great Longstone, Baslow, or Froggatt would be a better choice.
