i have a packham tree and i managed to harvest our pears back in march and just let it sit in the fridge to ripen til just the other day i pulled it out from the fridge and ate it. it was so juicy! the skin turned completely yellow. i never thought i’d be able to store those pears for so long and still be able to eat it.

My Bartletts never get ripe. Still hard as a rock when they start to rot. Great for canning but not eating.

Every fall i pass an old school that is no longer in use and i can't help but notice that each fall there is a Pear tree there full of pears and just as many on the ground, ,,,I always kinda want to stop and grab some but its not my property, , ,looks like they just go to waste every year ...

Hi im from the philippines. The only variety of pear that i've enjoyed eating are bell shaped and are soft to eat. Where are those from and do they have a particular description?
