Hey.... Men unwilling to help often learn it at home. He saw his mother struggle alone with all the chores. They were two boys, and he, the younger one, genuinely wanted to help. But, like many mothers, she said, 'Boys shouldn't be doing these things.' Thankfully, this didn't influence him like it does others. He doesn't want me to struggle like his mom did. He felt helpless because of her beliefs. Some mothers inadvertently raise these kinds of unhelpful men.

I only say no to him in the kitchen; he helps me in every other way. I love being alone in the kitchen, and he can help however he wants outside of it.

Sitting here watching this short and reading the comments while I’m sitting in my man’s lounge, having a glass of wine, watching “the great” whilst my man cooks me a 3 course meal and comes to refill my glass.

I can cook, very well actually. Better than my man even. I was raised in an African household where it’s a woman’s duty to cook for her man and family. My man is also African (we are Zimbabwean). Cooking for me is just one of his acts of service because his father (who was a chef) did the same for his mother.

I thank God for this man! Growing up I always looked forward to cooking for my man and kids because I love to cook and see people enjoy my meals. But damn, I never knew I NEEDED a man who also loves to cook for me as well.

Our kids will be raised in a household where cooking will be a life skill not a gender role! PERIODT
