John Beaudin has been in major market radio (Edmonton, Vancouver & Calgary) for 35 years and a music journalist since 1989. He graduated from Broadcasting school as a newsman so he would have the skills to write about the artists that inspired him since he bought his first Elton John album as a teen. In the '80s Beaudin was the host of the syndicated radio show “The Cross Canada Report” which had two versions (Rock and A/C). Beaudin was also asked to be a judge at the Juno Awards (Canada's answer to the Grammys) Twice. He has anchored every position in radio including morning and afternoon drive and was a Program and Music Director for The Breeze and California 103 in Calgary. He currently hosts the popular Lovesongs at QM-FM in Vancouver and on iHeartRadio.

Goodbye Maestro. You’re undisputedly one of the greatest composers of all time. Your compositions are classically and hauntingly beautiful that they give me goosebumps each time I listen to them. One of my favorites is the soundtrack of “The Mission”. Happy trails on your way to heaven.

Hi John.,
Legendary doesn't even begin to describe how good and important he is. Yes, the Mission is a must.... in movies and possibly the best soundtrack of all. It is a sweeping experience.
So powerfully tied into the movie themes.... and what themes. Yes. the Good the Bad and the Ugly. He enveloped our psyche very young and not surprised he composed 400 scores.
The man probably did not sleep.
I am honored to share the same Italian background for he truly is one of the best of his field.

I was always a fan of his compositions for Once Upon a Time in America with Sergio Leone. My favorite from that is Deborah's theme alongside with Amapola.

The soundtrack to "A Fistful of Dollars " was the first soundtrack album I bought, back in the days when a person could only buy music on LPs. I later collected the other soundtracks Ennio Morricone did for Sergio Leone 's films. I loved those movies, and Mr. Morricone 's music was a big part of that. 😢
