When I was driving through Pecos Co. near Fort Stockton TX, on my way to big Bend Park I saw a highway sign saying Sierra Madera Astrobleme. What? I looked it up and its a 100 myo crater, about 13 Km (8 miles) in diameter, the central peak being about the only landmark. Fascinating.

I visited the "Steinheimer Becken" 6 km diameter crater site in Germany, near Heidenheim. Impressive, although the site was heavily mined in the past; gravel stones were sold to the German Railway! A museum is in Sontheim. The crater is about 15E6_yrs old and possibly was carved out simultaneously with the "Nördlinger Ries Crater" 30km_dia. Some asteroids are double, they have their own moon, practically.
