Great video. Thanks for your thoughts. I love the roundness of the Scamp, and they seem to have mastered the rounded door, which Casita gave up on. They're both great American products. Casita's look a lot fresher inside in my opinion. Scamps have the classic trailer look of decades gone by, but people love that. 2 year wait on a new Scamp. About 1 on a Casita. I think I'm going to buy a Casita and put Scamp decals on it and piss off both sides.

For anyone concerned about interior height/size: I have a Spirit Deluxe 17'. I'm 6'2', 235 lbs. Other than occasionally nailing the top of the door going in or out (I'm slow) I have no problems moving around. Yes, the AC is low, but its over the bed so really isn't an issue. I've slept in the back bed and the side bed with no issues. A 16' would be an issue for me, of course. The bath/shower a bit snug, but at 3AM its quite handy, and a quick navy shower feels great in the summer. As always, YMMV.

I owned a 16 foot Scamp I bought new in the Fall of 2018. I sold it in the Fall of 2019 for one reason, I am 6 foot tall and my head was on or brushing the ceiling the whole time and I would hit my head on the fan & it's knobs. I have been in various Casitas and while very nice I would not buy one also because of the interior height issue. IF Scamp made their fifth wheel as tall in the back as it is in the front, I would sell my SUV & buy a truck to haul the 19 ft Scamp. Right now I am looking at R-Pods and similar RV's strictly due to interior headroom.

I visited the casita manufacture 09/18/2021 in Rice TX, they make only 17' and the wait is about a year if you order one. and it doesn't matter what configuration you order they all too small no room for two people to standup. the bunkbed configuration have 100Ib weight limit. I wish they make 19' and 21' and widen it another foot. but over all I agree the casita makes a better choice any time. only the scamp 5th wheel have a leg up over the casita if you like 5th wheel.

My brother has a Casita, I had a Scamp. I think the Casitas are nicer looking on the outside. I had heard that they are heavier. I will probably own another fiberglass camper in the future.

Hi, I just found out that the deceptive ad practices by the Casita Enterprises, Inc. of Rice, Texas are against the law in Texas. So for anyone who went to Casita with an ad from RVTraders or someplace else; and Casita didn’t honor their ad discounts of extras like awnings, large water tanks or high rise packages. You may file a complaint with Texas Attorney General Office and collect your refund. Here is what to ask for Texas guides consumer protection from deceptive ads. Make sure you have a copy of that ad. I have copies of the March to May 2020 and the August to the September 2020 ad. You can

I agree with you Casita is slightly better engineered than the Scamp. I have a 1994 13' Scamp. The fit and finish was awful. Took it all apart and fixed all the fit and finish issues. Scamp slaps them together fast and gets them out the door.

I have a custom made high axel 13 footer! I agree with all that you said. I did a lot of research too. The only small camper better is the Oscar, very expensive and of course Airstream's Bambi for 50 grand. My Casista has been places where you are not supposed to take trailers, I just fit under 20 feet. When in a tight spot, unhitch, turn it around! I have over 25, 000 miles on it, still holding up great. Replaced the battery this year, hot water element and that is it. Got the heavy duty tires, they are still in good shape. Highly recommend Casita over Scamp! I have also had Scamp owners ask to see the inside of mine and they all say the same thing, wish I would have got a Casita!

Scamp weighs much less, and has more interior height. All Fifth wheel hitches are bolted to truck. Casita has interior support but uses their cabinets to achieve the support.

Good comparison from a consumer point of view, which is what counts👍💕😊

Just an FYI. Scamp recently switched to flat doors

Casita is nice but Scamp holds its value and has a new interior updates in the 2021 model.

Great video. Good trailer. I have heard fiber sweats on the inside? A few I have seen on YT had stress cracks in the metal frame it sits on. ie: @ Bex Cat Herder. I would reinforce it if it has not already been done.
