My dad is a 82nd Airborne Desert Storm veteran. He has some cool stories but my favorite story is when he watched the Iraqi Scud missles flying over head in the desert night.

"NATO forces" - this wasn't a NATO war, it was a UN war. While some members of NATO did participate, it was a war organized by the UN Security Council.

My dad was in this war, too. He was an artillery fire direction specialist in the second wave, and if I remember right, he was hunting for scud missiles.

It is unfortunate that people are confusing Operation Desert Storm in 1991 as the Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

Gulf War 1 is monstrously legal compared to the 2nd Gulf War.

The funny thing is that, it wasnt even NATO, it was a UN coallition. The first real NATO action was in Yugoslavia in 1995, and the first time out of Europe would be in Libya in 2011

I was there and all I got was occasional random small blisters that show up on my hands and feet. I still get them 30 years later. I'm glad I did not get the syndrome instead.
