I can confirm this does work, you just need the bottom coil of the wire to touch the magnets at the bottom and short the terminals. In the video it is not connected. If you try this but make the copper longer and make it touch both pieces of metal it will work.

The copper wire should touch the bottom of the magnet for it to work, the wire didn’t even come half way through the magnet in your case…

Mr brilliant, that coil bottom should need to be length enough to touch bottom magnet, then only magnetic field will create and it will rotate.
