I agree with your thought. I've been recently on vacancy, its impossible to do a clean photo, i just started to enjoy take picture of the city or of a museum with people in the frame. It just feels real, when youre experiencing everybody life it just feels right like that!

It’s your photo, you can do what you want with it. There is no rule to who or what should be in it. Everyone will have an opinion, but it’s up to the artist what stays and what goes. Stick with to your decision and draw back to why you decided on that👍🏻

For my eye, the people would have been better placed on left thrid of frame. Something uneasy about both focal points being almost dead center.

That picture only works because the subject is not the people it's the building

No. You don’t “see it a lot“ in landscape photography. You see it recently because one successful YouTube photographer did it and now the rest of you mediocre ones are following suit, claiming that it’s “for scale“. Regurgitating the same garbage.
