Doesn’t that go against the rule of not putting anything wet in your bag or puffy? For the same reason you don’t want to breathe into your bag, you wouldn’t want to dry clothes in there either.

We had to dry pretty much any wet gear like that on my nols trip…feels weird at first but on long trips it’s the way to go

The better way to do it is to put on a dry pair then put the wet pair on top while you sleep. That way you don't have to put wet socks on your torso. You're welcome.

They should be put in your sleeping bag, not on your stomach or onto your clothing.

I do not agree. You say overnight, that means that you would bring the moisture of the socks into your sleeping bag which seems worse.

Instead, you end up with damp clothing! Very clever. Experienced hikers carry two pairs of socks.

I can’t do that I sweat when I sleep. Idc how cold it is I always sweat.
