The quick start guide said that it's recommended to remove the rubber washer when mounting the Key Light. It's meant to be used with cameras, camcorders, etc.

Missing a huge key step, after downloading the control center app from elgato you get hit with having to pair it. You don’t just automatically get to the point where you were.

Honestly i don't know. I guess they are alright. I have the Elgato Key Light Air. And they do work fine (when the wifi finds the Key light, which isn't always the case.) Finally got it working again after a reset. But having them set up in a permanent spot and being in a wheelchair, it's not always easy to reach. I don't know how their newer versions are. I do like that they don't get warm indeed, like you mentioned. I also like that they are bright enough but they don't blind your eyes! So except for the connection sometimes, i do like it. I always wanted to buy a stream deck as well but i think i have to go with Razer for that now? Or does Elgato still make them? (In any case, they are both the same products i think?)

you do not need a pc with wifi, you just need to add it to your LAN and that's it. Then you can use it from a wifi or ethernet connected PC because it's part already of your LAN. Just an advise since I heard you saying a few times you did not use it with your pc because it does not have wifi.

What is a good temperature setting in your option? 5700 to 5600 maybe?

Wait, you can control the key light via stream deck even if your pc is connected via ethernet?

i gave it 1 star bc you have to have 2.4 ghz networking all of our networks at the office and cellphone is 5 ghz network. I just bought mine today and now upset bc I cant even connect to it. Return asap back to Best Buy ...its using old technology for wifi

These lights are absolute garbage. I would highly recommend never using these. Youre better off going to a garage sale and buying a couple of lamps. At least you can turn lamps on and off when you want, at least they have a button that makes light go on, a concept every light in human history has had applied to it since the invention of the lightbulb.

Elgato tried to get too fancy with this mandatory wifi 2.4ghz BS. These things have been the bane of my existence for 4 years and in my probably 25th time re-setting these up since they just stop functioning after a few weeks of not using them yet Ive changed nothing...im done. Im literally throwing 3 keylights, a weighted stand and these stupid flimsy poles made of cheap plastic in the garbage, where they belong.
