We tried the service center at Camping world three times. The first two were really bad. The last time we had our class A in for maintenance they burned up our coach batteries by over charging them. Both batteries are on a solar trickle system. This keeps our batteries fresh and ready. I went to remove some paper work from my RV and found the door and two windows open on a Rainey day. I came out of the RV and noticed as I closed the door a strong battery smell. I went around to find a charger on high boost setting in the rain. My batteries were boiling. Acid had leaked out of the top of both. The battery charger cables were so hot I couldn't hold them. They would not replace them. My batteries were less then a year old. And not under warrantee if you burn them up. Bought new batteries and refused to let CW install them. I went in the shop and collected my keys then drove out to never return. CW is the worst.

No way I would take my business to CW. That unmitigated gall to bill a customer for service on a rig that was burned down is rich.

I recall Camping World did not want me as a customer anyway. Seems I didn't vote the way they thought I should.

Camping World told Conservatives they should not shop there. I have followed their instructions.

Simple answer campers are extremely criminally overpriced now, and very cheaply assembled. Why would somebody pay $40, 000 for a fiberglass box on wheels?

RV Parks are getting more expensive then a Motel room in most areas.

You folks are the BEST!! Thank you very much for the updates. I would never go to CW for any repairs or RVs. Cannot be trusted!! Please keep up the great work you do.

Chicagoland area is seeing a business exodus due to hostile business environment, high crime and an indifferent government. It makes sense to move across state lines to a better area.

I am sure there are exceptions, but the RV industry needs a renaissance. The industry’s idea of quality control is to push the units out the door and wait for the customer to complain. Took my Class C to a dealer for service with a lengthy list of defects. The dealer kept the Class-c for nearly 8 weeks. Half of the listed items weren’t addressed. The other one-half were inadequately or fraudulently addressed. Yes, fraudulently: the dealer claimed to have replaced the drain valve on the freshwater tank and (I believe) billed the mfr. A few months later it began to leak again and my plumber and I replaced the valve. We found that the dealer had just put some plumbers putty on the valve. No one with any knowledge of plumbing in a motor home could have thought that would fix the problem. I am a hobbyist woodworker and have a shop full of professional level tools and machines. With some help from my plumber and a neighbor who is an electrical engineer, I ultimately fixed all the problems. I had expectations for getting a motor home, but becoming an RV technician wasn’t one of them.

Camping World in Berkeley, MA is loaded with new and used RVs. A 2020 Newmar Ventana has been in the lot for at least 5 to 6 months. Absolutely a buyer’s market and I’m going to wait at least until next summer. The high interest rates are not going away anytime soon, thus taking a lot of people out of the market. This slower market should be a wake up call to the manufacturers to start building a better product.

Gas an diesel prices are outrageous, when we have so much oil under our own ground.

Glad I bought my unit from a family owned local business with over 40 years in the business...

Bought our first rv earlier this month. Did our homework before the final sale. We plan to do our future repairs like we did our 100+ year old home, DIY! Headed out in the Spring to test out the unit in Fl. Safe travels everyone! Don't forget to do a pretrip inspection. Blessings.

I was just at the Elkhart location and they are adding a large service building. Staff was helpful and friendly.

They need more and better repair shops. People think about that before buying. It’s not easy finding someone nor cheap.

Saw this issue in the marine business a few years back. Dealerships overloaded with inventory and boat manufactures forcing product down dealer’s throats. Many closed there doors or sold out. As a former big ticket retailer, I can state this fact: dealers survive and live off wholesale floor-plan programs to carry themselves through the sales cycle. When floor-plan programs dry up or reduce benefits, dealers sitting on large inventories cannot make interest payments, the manufacturers are forced to buy back inventory and shuffle it through others outlets. I have been watching this RV inventory issue kinda play out as others on here have stated about dealers sitting on huge numbers of units. You could see RV manufacturers consolidate as houseboat manufacturers did years ago creating a one company building numerous name brands. If that happens, manufacturers will begin the process of marketing the brands at different price points. So look out buyers, a once promenade brand could become the next entry level unit living off its heritage but with lesser results in quality.

Bought a 2021 Forrest River 31L5 Georgetown from Lazy Days in Tampa (Seffner). Have been looking for 2 years. Now on a Camping trip to see the fall colors in the New England. Very lightly used rig with few minor issues to date. Went from 16' trailer to this rig and loving it!!! SAFE TRAVELS !!!!

Unfortunately, Camping World have purchase not one, but TWO independent RV dealerships in 2023 in Indiana. It makes us “sick” that CW is STILL gobbling up the “mom & pop” dealership. 😢 We are having to travel many more miles from home to patronize an independent, reliable dealership. Will definitely continue to do so because we will NOT go to CW for purchase and service, in Indiana, ever again.
