How I adopted 2 stray dogs from Greece

I can't describe how happy I was when I finally got to meet Joia in person, one and a half year after we met online. She had been following the channel and the dogs' rescue stories, but when she decided to come to Greece and adopt Daphne, I was abroad and couldn't make it back to Greece. We never lost touch, and when I told her that I was going to Chicago for an adoption, she decided to adopt the second dog that she always wanted. So Lila travelled with us to the States, and became Joia's second dog and Daphne's best friend. We spent a beautiful day together, we talked, walked the girls, had lunch and said our goodbyes with a promise to meet again, this time in Greece. Both dogs were rescued by Save a Greek Stray from the streets of Greece where they were abandoned as puppies. They are of the same age, about two years old, and they loved each other since day one. Hopefully they have many happy years ahead of them, to enjoy everything they were deprived of in the beginning of their lives.

Oh Valia!!! I'm crying watching this video. You are an amazing storyteller, you are so poetic. I can't believe our story started with a video and now we'll be friends forever. Lila is doing so well! I don't understand there has two dislike for this video. It is so nice that people who are willing to go to other countries for adopting dogs or for doing some volunteer works for stray animals. I personally cannot do it because I know I will be so depressed if I see a bunch of stray dogs or cats in streets, and I am not able to help or take them home.

What a lovely amazing love story. The girls get along so well too. Your right the hard dogs are the best ones to me. I had a shy boy and it does take time for them to be brave and trust.
