KJV Only Don’t Care

I get SO MANY comments from hardcore KJV Only folks who say the same three or four things about how other translations are bad, evil, etc. It’s almost as if they have a script that they all share. And every time I try to thoughtfully engage and explain why I disagree, they get super nasty (I’ve been told I’m going to hell more times than I can count). Can you imagine what they’re gonna say when my book comes out?! 😳 It’s exhausting… but I’ll keep trying.

This is unfortunately an area where some of the most nasty, angry, ad hominem attacks are sent back and forth between Christians like a ping pong ball. A call to my KJV-only brothers and sisters and for those brothers and sisters who support modern translations…what good is it to claim you read the Bible and not do what it says? Consider the following verses: (KJV for my onlyist friends)

John 13:34-35 KJV
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. [35] By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

(So if non-believers will know that we follow Jesus by our love for one another, then what do you think it looks like to unbelievers when we angrily throw insults at each other? Many of said insults are not fit to even be on the lips of believers, much less written on the internet for the unbelieving world to see.)

1 John 4:7-8 KJV
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. [8] He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Romans 12:9-10 KJV
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. [10] Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

1 Peter 4:8 KJV
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.


Finally, the conclusion of the matter:

Luke 6:46 KJV
And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

If you are insulting your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ with the hateful, sometimes cruel insults that I often see in this argument, then frankly I don’t care what translation you read because you’re not living what you read anyway! I’ve had to seek forgiveness and repent of such attitudes before (even as I have typed this I have been convicted of previous sinful attitudes and words!), and I ask that you humble yourselves before the Lord and do the same. If you cannot have a calm, intellectual discussion about the matter (without nasty personal insults; specifically on the other’s intelligence or presumed lack thereof) then please don’t comment.

Proverbs 15:1 KJV
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 KJV
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. [14] For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
(Note the word ‘commandments’ in Ecclesiastes 12:13. Compare to John 13:34 and keep His commandment 💚)

I prefer the KJV because I love the poetic nature of it. If im doing quick reading for a devotion before work ill use esv. I think if you only use kjv thats fine just dont be toxic about it. I also am learning greek to be able to better understand the kjv. I know some of the toxic kjv only people but i think a distinction needs to be made from the people who prefer the kjv and the toxic kjv community

I’m KJV only, but not once have I (and some others, from comments I’ve read), gone commenting on everything on this channel rebuking everyone over it. I have no intention to. I just have a love for premium Bibles, and love seeing the different layouts, designs, and types of premium Bibles.
But shorts like this, where all of us KJV only people are lumped together does seem to drive us away @TimWildsmith. I understand there are some arrogant ones - I know, I’ve met many - but what’s the purpose? Just as not everyone is “reformed” or “ecumenical, ” do they get mocked too? Where are their shorts?

Why even tell another bible believer that their choice of bible is flawed? Read whichever Bible translation you prefer because there isn’t anyone else in your room reading over your shoulder while you do. It’s between you and God, no one else. There’s no argument. I still read the KJV with pleasure just the same as I read from four other translations. I really don’t care what anyone else reads, either! 📖✝️🙏💟

The most important difference is that the KJV is clear when it says that to be saved one must believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and that is all. Several other newer translations word it differently. As if you are in a process of being saved when you believe in Jesus Christ. This can understandably lead people to think they do in fact need good works to be truly saved. Which is a dangerous rhetoric that leads millions of people astray.

If you are bright enough to understand the KJV, read it. Ultimately pray for wisdom and discernment and to be able to understand and know what Bible Yah wants you to read.

No saved brother of sister will attacking the king James Bible. If anyone does mark and avoid them. All the other Bible are from the corrupted Alexandrian text and was published by the vatican. I don't let lost people tell me spiritual things.

Be careful what you post here KVJO brothers and sisters. I posted something a while back on one of Tim's previous "KVJ vs. Modern Bibles" video clips and it got deleted. It wasn't anything hurtful or vulgar either. It was just verses that were removed or have been brackted in his precious NIV Bible. I personally believe that he's causing anger and division with his subscriber base by posting these short videos and poking fun of KJVO Bible readers. I mean why even do something this like in the first place? This is supposed to be a Bible review YT channel.

When the goal is no longer to teach people about HIS word, I totally understand using the KJV.

When teaching people what to book says is important, let’s use English that isn’t dead, we’re someone could actually obtain a dictionary 😅

Flawed? Oh yes it’s so flawed to believe Gods word when he said he would preserve his word. You critical text proponents will claim that there is no perfect word of God and you believe that we don’t even know what verses belong and what verses don’t. My God is not a God of confusion

And this is where you lose me. KJV is superior man. Sealed by the King book, and the divine inspiration behind it, is the same as behind the original texts. Its beyond human capabilities to create such perfection.

I dont care if you learn from any other bible translation. But crapping on the one God signed mathmatically, lost you a sub.
