But what if you eat your rice or bread with vegetables?

This doalogue should be discuss more often than not. I realize when i see people that i know who ate a lot of carbs like white rice and bread, they tend to eat a lot more of carbs and they are either pre diabetec, diabetic and over weight. Some, even with thyroid problems.

I myself used to eat a lot of rice and bread. I realize the more i take them, the more i crave for them, i feel ever more hungry at night. It was hard to explain why. But i am guessing it has to do with the insulin in the system that triggers the cravings.

The other day when i had a glass of honey water, i also felt like my belly was getting stiffer for some reason. (I had two glass of them hoping to relief my cough; 1 1/2 table spoon each). I knew something was wrong! Hearing from this video that honey produce too much sugar too fast, just wow!

I now have cut down my carb intake by 60%. I tell the waiter/waitress to remove excess rice. Or i would share it with my son.
I stopped buying bread. If i do, i only prepare bread for my boy.

Lately, I dont feel hungry so often it is mind blowing.

My boy is still young and growing so it is normal that he needs 3 meals a day. I tell myself, i dont have to eat if i am not hungry while others are.

I have naturally lost weight without trying to stress myself hard trying to workout like some pro atheletes.

My belly fat has now become less firm it is starting to sag due to excess stretched skin.
I could grab my belly skin which i couldnt previously.

I feel better, more agile, active and lighter. My heart rate feels good. I sleep better at night. I snore less. I breathe better.

I feel like finally i am burning fats off having this knowledge. Cutting off carbs esp rice and bread. This is my two favourite food. I eat only when im hungry. Eat the right food. Eat smart.

Infact, after prolong cutting down eating rice, it felt a little overwhelming when I consume too much rice in my mouth. It is very startchy, it is actually dry, tasteless (only tasty when you have gravy, oil and sauce in it).

I am looking forward to meet my goals. I've lost 4 kilos within 3 weeks. Turning 45 soon. Was 78+ now 74.

Hoping to lose another 6.

Joining full marathon next month.
Hope I finish it

Cant wait.

How did the rice diet work? It was 90% CHO and very low fat and protein plus people stayed on the diet for prolonged time without side effects.

I used to say back in college that I could live on pizza, burgers, and fried rice. Many years later I finally submitted to the fact that that I will die young on pizza, burgers, and fried rice. Furman follower (GREAT PBS offerings/lectures also) for many years. Eat for LIFE, not for momentary pleasure (most addicts are addicted to dopamine rushes, not the claimed 'addiction').

If a person has high c-peptide which I understand is a marker for insulin resistance, could that be a precursor for diabetes? I used to have high high high c-peptide but normal A1C. I’m vegan now and c-peptide is optimal but I wonder if I was on my way to diabetes and cleared it up eating this way.

Now that John Mcdougall is gone, Joel can say whatever he wants without the fear of getting spanked. I can only imagine what Mcdougall would have to say about this (dis)information. People aren't getting fat from eating white rice and pasta, it's what they're eating it with. As an athlete, these foods are staples.

Temporary blood sugar spikes do not harm your health unless you already have diabetes/pre-diabetes. Spiking your blood sugar does not cause diabetes or harm your body in anyway unless the spikes are ridiculously high and occur many many many times. Your body is not that fragile!
