People are knocking this for using digital fx, but this really is a perfect multi-fx unit with dedicated analog saturation. It’s wonderful for hardware—digital or analog. And of course it’s main selling point, the analog circuitry, can be dedicated to software to add some vintage color, It’s really become so much of a complete utility. This is going to be one of the greatest periods for synths when we look back. I can feel it.

I’m just here for the Cuckoo jam… could listen to that all day - love the FX but as I run my Digis into Ableton I can do a lot of this without this lovely sounding but expensive box…

I Was going to keep waiting for 2nd hand Heats to get cheap enough, to eventually acquire 2 or 3 of them. Mainly because I wanted an extra 1 or 2 as processors to add before or after other top notch rack fx units I have too. I like using my mk2 Heat as a main mix out processor mostly... But it was always being used more for its subtle mixdown treatments, & I wanted to get 1 more at least... To become more like this as a processor here to... Without needing to chose how better to make use of the 1 I've got to work with... Can't afford one to jump on these in the near future. But I like it, & could see the point of further development to the Heat range... Of this new one coming to light. Wish it was a dual stereo in & output device, but otherwise it will be a great tool anyway

Thank you for the no talking demo. Now I know (or think 🧐😉) one can achieve similar FX with ST FX track and some analog distortion before input.

This is actually pretty neat. I've been getting more into FX now that I do more looping jams, obviously it helps with variations 😮

have you experimented with self patching? if it can handle it (which hopefully it can), the reordering of effects and the control over parameters could probably allow for some crazy drone/noise wall stuff without an input.

Definitely fun machine, and it's pretty easy to use (I tested at superbooth) BUT it's expensive. They need to adjust the price; otherwise people should go with ableton/logic effects and go with second hand analog heat (it's around 500). Anyhow this one is also digital FX.

Can you achieve the same type of warmth with an Sp404 mk2 and it’s efx

Personally I’d prefer a used mark 2 and a bunch of pedals, but I’ve been doing the math and had to stop when I realised it was going to cost over £ 1500, now the +fx is starting to look like a bargain 🤦🏻

Here to make sure people know elektron can do better and are not
