The coloured coating you see on the walls is Silica rich fluids, that have flowed over the manganese formations, what you are seeing is the early formation of Opal, in the most basic of terms.

The only thing I have to explore here in Eastern Kentucky is Coal mines. I can't wait to branch out and start exploring metal ore mines some day. Also, that submersible ROV is crazy cool.

New to your channel and i find your videos so interesting! Did you ever do a second part to the silver mountain experience mine? Also, im from west Wales and our only mine is a place called Rosebush Quarry, theres a range of abandoned mine shafts that would be so interesting to see in a video!

I just started watching this video and the country is beautiful but I come from an Island of big mountains and really big trees and I mean really big trees lol How are Pine or Larch trees for durability??? Yours are being used for a false floor how many years do you think that they would be safe to walk on because here in BC we would use Fir and maybe a little cedar and if the mine is dry they would be good for a couple hundred years if not more.
