MSIA Founder John-Roger lovingly speaks about death, grieving, and knowing God before you die.
How do we discover who we truly are inside? MSIA (the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness) teaches Soul Transcendence — becoming aware of yourself as a Soul and as one with God, not as a theory but as a living reality. Your Soul is who you truly are; it is more than your body, your thoughts, or your feelings. It is the highest aspect of yourself, where you and God are one.
MSIA offers an approach that focuses on how to incorporate spirituality into our everyday life in a tangible, workable way. We call it “practical spirituality.” It’s using everything in our life to expand and grow in a way that allows us to relate to the world from the inside out, from our loving center, and to explore the nature of our true essence as a Soul.
For over 50 years, MSIA founder John-Roger devoted his life to being a Wayshower for others to find Spirit within themselves and demonstrate how to live life in greater loving, happiness, and peace. J-R’s humor, joy, and unconditional loving embraced and touched people around the planet. His good works continue on, guiding those studying the path of Soul Transcendence.
John Morton inspires and educates people around the world on the teachings of the spiritual heart and recognizing the blessings in all situations. He serves as Spiritual Director of MSIA, anchors the Mystical Traveler Consciousness and guides those on the path of Soul Transcendence. John is an accomplished author, masterful facilitator, and loving friend to all.

If we had an earthquake and everybody died, you know I’d stand there and be clapping on top of the earthquake going, [clapping/hum] “ta da da da ta da da Ole! Woosh! There goes the earth! Ha ha!”

J-R: Grieving is a necessary love affair.
I teach that we don’t die. So we don’t suffer. But we suffer the losing of the loving and the return of the loving. See what we miss when people go is, “Who will I have love me? Mom, now that you are dead, who will love me like you love me? Dad, now that you are dead, who will love me like you love me? My wife who will love me like you love me? Even when we get divorced, who will love me like you love me?” And we still grieve it.
And you know what really is the grievous thing? That they can finally get along without us and we don’t want ‘em to.
I have people in the movement whose job is to die, and whose job I have to see that they go to the place we’ve got for ‘em. So they don’t feel like they want to be pulled back to the earth by incompletions. So they don’t get earthbound.
Because you’re getting close to God at two important points in your life, at birth and at death. They just come in from God with a message of life, and they’re going to God with a message of eternal light.
It may be because I am the only person I know, that when they close their eyes here, and they open their eyes there, I’ll be the same, and they’ll know that.
Up to that point I have no promise. But when I say I will take you there, I do that. You won’t know if that’s true, until you get there. And I don’t say, “believe it,” I say, “do your spiritual exercises and find out early.”
