Privacy and security are foundational to everything we do at Ring, and we're excited to be the first major smart home security provider to offer customers video End-to-End Encryption (E2EE). The feature began rolling out to customers on January 13, 2021 as a technical preview and customers can share feedback on their experience.

Please create 4k cameras in your line up.

I have a question regarding the end to end encryption. If a police department requires the video and you send it to them. If the end-to-end encryption is set up, will that alter the authorities' ability to view the video?

I wish ring was ONVIF compliant. This would allow you to bring the video into your existing security camera system.

Great, but this feature is not yet available.

I am hearing and reading conflicting information regarding the E2EE. I read it has to be enabled by the owner of the account, and it does not work with battery cameras. Well it is enabled on my battery cameras, and I didn’t set it up! I don’t like it and can’t disable it! And no one at Ring knows what to do!

Well hey. This means they finally could follow through on the 4 year old HomeKit promise that “continues to be in the works.”
