QUESTION: I've wanted a Ring doorbell, but have refrained due to my not wanting to add yet one more source of video for Ring's servers/datamining/law enforcement sharing....if I understand this correctly, using a Ring doorbell with E2EE will essentially keep all my data to myself, and not even Ring can access or use it, let alone share it with anyone else..??

....or does Ring also retain a copy of the encryption key?

question, why add E2E now? why not add it in the first place? especially to something that shows the gov your front porch recordings? ones that seem to be on their servers? is it because they hate competition? (if that has changed please forgive my ignorance)
