Fabulous fabulous fabulous. Saw this on the 2nd row and have never seen anything like this before. Now I can sit and watch it all over again as I have just received the DVD from America. What an experience.

I've been a theatre-goer for over 20 years now. Back in the good old days [before the Covid pandemic] I had money to burn and easy access to London's West End. I would see up to 50+ shows per year. That's one show per week on average so it's not as much as it sounds.

Just when I was starting to feel jaded, this show happened. I went in with tempered expectations but the performance was faultless. Out of this world. And I mean that literally. I felt like I had stepped into a parallel universe. The production quality was extremely high, far beyond anything I could have imagined. I've seen major productions sinking like the Titanic. They were too massive to operate smoothly, too expensive to survive for long, or just poorly directed or miscast [weak actors in the leading roles]. But this show was different. It was a roaring success. Everything worked like a charm. The music, the performers, the choreography, the set design, the costumes. I'm very good at spotting mistakes on stage [one of the drawbacks of being a theatre junkie] but I didn't notice anything "wrong" or "off" with this show. I saw it 3 times just to make sure the quality was solid.

Whoever was running this show on Drury Lane was running a tight ship. I hope they didn't keelhaul the dancers who accidentally stepped out of line. LOL

Saw this 6 times. The first one from the first row. And baby... this is the place to enjoy it. The staircase scene from the first row worth every penny!
