I know several astronauts were air force pilots so they had an idea of what to possibly expect but hats off to others especially the civilians who have done this. That has got to be a heck of a ride and no tapping out! It's one thing to hang on and try to keep your lunch down but to have to think and perform duties at the same time is incredible. I know they put in extreme amount of simulation time but I can't imagine how you can prepare for that feeling of power. The colonel paints a very good picture
