Your mention of opera was on the money. Before being recruited into PTX, Avi was an opera/classical major in college, and had been offered a position with the Los Angeles Opera. He was a theory/composition/arranging minor as well, which came in very handy both in writing and arranging for PTX, and now writing and arranging his own solo music. He has a full album that's due for release after the first of the year, with more singles by then, so keep an eye and ear out.

I think you really get Avi, and I love it! He does have a strong streak of blues/soul, and all folk has country roots. I hear a little gospel vibe too. If you want the full bass, try "Chains." It'll kill you. And for really different? Try "Otherside, " a soft moody folk ballad that weaves a spell.

Avi is a rare animal indeed. He classified as a true basso profundo with a crazy range. That's why you feel him channeling Big Barry. BTW he's considered more folk than country. Also, you should check out videos of him destroying speakers with that below basement smooth as Hennessey bass. 😄😄😄

Avi will love that you sent him a comment. I was on the live stream of the premiere and he said he enjoys the reactions. He said he does watch some of them incognito. A reactor was on the stream and he called out to him and addressed his question. Just know he could be watching and listening. This song was about anxiety and depression. He is an amazing talent and an amazing light to the world. sounds like you have a pretty great voice as well. thank you for the reaction. :)

Loved this reaction! This is actually not country, but folk, but there are many similar elements. Avi crosses genres and styles and uses all of his impressive range. He didn't hot his top nor his bottom range here, but the song is incredible.
Can't wait to see him live in March

I enjoyed your reaction. The name of Avi's song you were trying to remember is "Change On the Rise". This new song was produced by Shooter Jennings so I guess you would classify it as Southern Rock or Outlaw Country. Whatever it is called it's great! Thanks so much.

Yay! Yes, subscribe to Avi! So glad you left a comment for Avi too. Avi has a unique voice that reaches into your soul. He's actually a Bass (vs. Baritone) but has a wide range. He has some Opera training as well. I believe his music is classified as Folk, as Avi indicated on Twitter and Instagram that the song got put in Spotify's Fresh Folk playlist. Avi does have other songs and EPs on his solo YouTube channel. Would love more reactions to Avi's songs! This particular one, the newest, is one of my favorites but there are so many others. The one you couldn't think of the name of was Change on the Rise.
