This is my quick and easy recipe on how to make creamy au gratin dauphinoise potatoes

INGREDIENTS

4 medium sized potatoes (500g)
1 cup of full fat cream (250ml)
1/3 cup of full fat milk (80ml)
150g grated cheddar cheese
30g unsalted butter
2 finely chopped garlic cloves
1 sprig of thyme
Salt
Black pepper

METHOD

1. Peel the potatoes
2. Slice into a 3mm thickness
3. Combine the cream, milk, butter and garlic in a jug
4. Mix
5. Spread 1/3 of the potatoes evenly in a glass oven dish
6. Season with salt and black pepper
7. Pour 1/3 of the cream mixture
8. Sprinkle with cheese
9. Layer 1/2 of the remaining potato slices
10. Season with salt and black pepper
11. Pour 1/2 remaining of the cream mixture
12. Sprinkle with cheese
13. Layer the remaining of the potato slices
14. Season with salt and black pepper
15. Sprinkle with thyme
16. Pour the remaining of the cream mixture (do not put any cheese on top)
17. Cover with tin foil and put in the oven at 180c/460f for 1 hr 15 mins
18. Take out of the oven and remove the tin foil
19. Sprinkle with cheese
20. Put in the oven for 5 more minutes
21. Take out of the oven and enjoy!
