The Exynos Isn't The Problem

Samsung's Galaxy phones use either a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip or an Exynos chip under the hood. This not only leads to some Galaxy phones having worse performance, but can also be holding back new features from all Galaxy phones.

Also, samsung by shipping its Snapdragon phones to North America (where majority of the major reviewers are located) gets rave reviews on the phones. Whereas someone buying it in an exynos region may view the video and purchase the phone thinking its all the same

Samsung should look into overnight battery drain on their phones irrespective of the processor.

I think Samsung should follow the steps of apple, start using exynoss chipsets and focusing a lot on it in order to make it better + making a cooling system that works well with exynoss to keep the peak performance as long as possible because the snapdragon 8 gen 1's stability was 50%.

I think samsung should use Exynos only. Having their own chip will make them easy for optimization and longer software updates. Snapdragon only supoorts its falgship chips for 3 years i think. I wouldn't actually mind slightly less performance for great optimization and software... thoughts?

I think, Samsung should use only snapdragon for a temporary period to give Samsung time to make and develop strong processors, and don't use the Exynos until Samsung br sure that the Exynos is free of defects.

Samsung among other phone manufacturers, should focus on optimizing their entire lineup of devices instead. A powerful processor is great and all, but a smooth bug free experience can go a long way.

No wonder why in Australia barely anyone buys a Samsung & you’ll find them about 35-45% off about 6-8 months after release.

Samsung should just focus on one chipset and optimize it instead of just adding a bigger battery and minor upgrades

Yeah I kinda saw this video coming. Sammy got great hardware but they really need to up their processor game.

The thing is Samsung saves lots of money by doing so
See, Exynos is made by Samsung so they can buy it for a much lower price. And in those countries where Qualcomm has patents they use Snapdragon because otherwise they might have to pay licence fees. So overall they can price their Galaxy phones equally all over the world.
An iPhone for example is much higher priced in India or Brazil, and a Xiaomi phone is also much more expensive outside China because of such reasons.

They should go with the dominant snapdragon chip till their in-house chips are good enough to replace the snapdragon chip in every way.

The simple reason is if the make the exynos chip it will be cheaper for them . But in countries where the qualcomm has patent in those countries it’s cheaper for samsung to use qualcomm chip or else they’ll have to take license from qualcomm

Also in near future when samsung will make it’s chip way batter than qualcomm it might use it’s own chip on all phone or vice versa

Ever since they ditched the exynos, the optimization of the phone becomes very satisfactory and the s23 is the proof of that. Because they focus on a single chip specifically made for their phones which makes easy for them to optimized unlike optimizing for 2 chipsets.

Therefore exynoss is truly their problem,
they pride for the chip that failed them in this modern day.

the argument that the upside of this practice from samsung only benefits samsung. People who buy their phone with exynos is directly impacted, their experience of the phone is not up to par with the snapdragon, yet you have to pay the same price.

Samsung switched to Snapdragon in India after YEARS of sticking with Exynos

this year we got snapdragon s22 in the uae and we almost always got exynos I think samsung is on it's way to have snapdragon in all its phones

The good news is that the galaxy s23 according to Ming chi kuo will be only snapdragon exclusive

I personally hope Samsung can figure out a way to make exynos the only chip so that they could really optimize their phones

In recent news, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that Samsung's 2023's flagships like the S23 will NOT use Exynos chips in any region. All Samsung flagships will run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 only.

Jerryrigseverything took the cooling out of the Snapdragon Note 20 Ultra and installed it in the Exynos Note 20 Ultra. Suddenly, the Exynos speed evened out with the Snapdragon speed stats.
