Seek Outside Cimarron - A Long Term Review

I've owned the Seek Outside Cimarron for a number of years and have used it in a lot of different scenarios from backcountry hunting to just your average weekend backpacking trip. It's become a go-to shelter for me and I've used it enough to put together this long term review of the Cimarron.

I love my Cimarron. I have the full and half nests for summer and the stove for the cold and hunting. With 2 people, 3lbs each roughly. I've had in winds over 40 mph and had zero concerns. Great gear for sure.

This is such a great shelter, up here in Alberta the Cimarron paired with a stove is a game changer for late season hunting or camping

If the conditions are right for a floorless shelter, what conditions are referring to? I am looking at buying for my son who would use it in Colorado elk and deer hunting, September-October elevations from 8, 000 to 10, 000 ft.

I’ve had massive condensation issues and flooding of the tent/ground during a Colorado elk hunt this September. Condensation rains down on the inside in heavy rain when stuck inside for extended periods and during sleeping with wind. Soaked absolutely everything.

Curious on your thoughts

Can you tell me where you found the visored wool cap you’re wearing in this video? Seems perfect for hunting/hiking.

So can you put trekking poles in the roof to dry gear? How do you hang gear to dry?

Considering this for a November hunt in Montana. Will be using a stove. I’m skeptical about floorless, because I’m from Louisiana and we have millions of insects.

When do you think you should go with a floor vs floorless

Have you used it with a stove? Is it still roomy enough for 2P and gear on a cold weather hunt? Stove and a stash of wood have to take up a fair bit of the prime real estate in the middle?

Emory great video! I've had this shelter in my cart more times than I care to admit but have yet to pull the trigger. Im located in the northwest corner of Washington state and during many or our early season hunts (August bear and September archery deer) the bugs are horrible. Have you found this to be a big deal with a floorless shelter? I know I could run the inner nest to take care of the bugs but IMHO that take away most of the benefits of going with a flourless tipi. Anyways awesome content and keep up the great work!

Thank you for the content!
Also from Alberta and looking forward to using this late season hunting.
I just ordered the light version in Sage Green.
My question for you is,
Do you find the second door useful on your tent?
I loose the second door on the light version and am unsure I made the right call.
Also, did you write that your Cimarron does not have a stove jack?
