Fairy tail was the FIRST ever anime, literally got me so addicted into anime, and it STILL is my fav until right now. This made my childhood🥲i miss this so much im glad theyre having a new movie AHHH!

The score always gets me hyped. Main theme, Natsu's theme and Grey's theme are absolute bangers. Yasuharu Takanashi made some masterpieces. 🤩🤩🤩

To me this show not only knows how to actually juggle a large cast of characters and still have the day ones be relevant but the power of friendship can be used by all of them and are capable of getting in a good fight

Personally, I think the "Power of Friendship" trope at least has a reason to be used so often in Fairy Tail unlike other animes and shows that use the same trope where they pull the trope out of their ass with little to no rhyme or reason. The trope is used to help build FT's magic system (case and point- the power of emotions), and is literally the whole reason the Fairy Tail guild was formed in the first place; to establish a safe haven for wizards and children to come and form everlasting friendships, to have a family. Hiro Mashima himself said that he created the story to reflect his own experiences and feelings he had with FRIENDS, and he wanted that to be apparent and shown in the overarching themes of Fairy Tail. So the "Power of Friendship" trope actually has a reason for being an important thing in FT, unlike so many other animes that use the same exact trope even if in their own stories and settings it makes even less sense (yet FT is shit on for using this trope even though it has actual REASONING behind it, whereas no one has a heart attack when other animes/shows use it w/ no reasoning at all. Make it make sense!)

Personally, I understand if people don't like the whole "Power of Friendship" trope. But don't go saying FT is cringey for using it and then turn around and cheer or not have a problem with it when another show like One Piece or Naruto uses the EXACT same trope.

honestly yeah i never understood all of the hate, fairy tail might not be everyone's cup of tea but that's not enough of a reason to hate on it. it was like my 3rd anime ever and i remember being so excited to get home and continue watching fairy tail. and now im rewatching it in preparation for 100 year quest's release in july this year :D

This is the “power of friendship” trope done right though. It’s not used as an overpowering force between a few characters through most of the show, it’s a huge guild of people working together. The whole point of the guild is that they’re a huge found family. Working together and supporting each other is what gets them through all the hardships their guild faces. I come from a fairly large, close knit family so this whole aspect of the show resonated with me a lot. Fairy Tail definitely goes down as one of my favorite anime ever.

Fairy Tail has always had a place in my heart ever since I first started watching. While, it's not my favorite, it's still up there purely off of my emotional attachment to the series and its characters. It taught me that it's okay to rely on other people if you need it and that more often than not, you'll try harder at something if you're doing it for someone else's sake. It also shows that anyone can be your family regardless of blood ties or background. Despite the hate it gets for the whole "power of friendship" thing and the fanservice, it's a series that wears it's heart on its sleeve and the themes that go along with it are really well thought out and wholesome to a point that every win and loss feels like it's so much bigger than just the characters directly involved with each fight. Everyone in the guild has a sense of belonging and acceptance towards each other and I love it.

This is a perfect comfort anime because no one really dies and you yet you still feel the friendships and bonds between the characters. The amount of times I cried and still cry when my favorite characters in other anime dies- this show is just perfect to relax.

Fairy Tail was one of the shows that got me into anime and is amazing. There are so many moments that make me tear up. I wish some of the filler wasn't there because it can really break the flow in the story but it was a good fun show. It may be goofy and childish at some points compared to some of the other big anime but that light hearted feel was what made it fun.

I completely agree. It was a journey we all took part in to some extent. That music gets me fired up and I've heard the song so many times that I can imagine the entire song just even thinking about it. But especially the Dragon Force theme. That goes so hard that I use it to motivate myself into pushing myself to do better. I'll always love this series.

My friend had the Fairy Tail theme song played at his funeral a few months ago and it was as heartbreaking as it was beautiful.
