We in Germany also don’t have the best living standards. Actually, we are often far from it. But a society that does not acknowledges its flaws and failures will never be able to move past them.

As someone who's spent their entire life in the U.S., thank you for making these videos, I have always know that the U.S. has plenty of problems and never really bought into the "best country" narrative (maybe thanks to global interconnectedness due to modern communication) and have always wanted to learn about other countries and how things can be done better and your videos are perfect for that. Thank you again for everything you do and hopefully things will be better in the future.

I, German, never lived in the US, but my sister does for 30 years now.
The basic difference is: In the US it is (or was) easier to get rich, and only the rich have freedom, and they have more freedom than in Germany.
In Germany it's hard to get rich, but even the poor have freedom and a life with more dignity and less worries, so you don't need to be rich.

Love your videos! Thank you for sharing and raising awareness. Here in America we are deeply corrupted and lost, very sad.

After I moved abroad, it's hard to have conversations with friends and family back home because the American experience is so myopic that they have no interest in my experiences or how my perspective has changed since I left.

Makes it hard to ever want to go back in any kind of permanent capacity.

I, as a Native American (Indian to some) have always seen the flaws in this country-and was taught about civil rights and propaganda and corruption from birth. We in the USA (America) are in a corporate Oligarchy-not a democratic republic. Money/power runs everything and the less advantages are used as drone bees to be discarded by the hive after their season has passed. The poor have to know how to work the complex system to get “benefits” (while being sneered at by the government workers). The “benefits” are not benefits at all but a trap to keep the family in poverty. I love my native soil, the lakes, mountains, the plains and majestic wonder of The country. But the government is all death promoting where moral decisions are laughed at and power and destruction celebrated by the pale males who run the machinery of this inebriated corruption.

I was so pleasantly surprised by the NHS when I married & moved to England. I was told all my life that “socialized” medicine is just a step above witch doctors.

I've been following your video for quite a while now. As a German citizen, it is mind-boggling what American citizens have to deal with and the inability to change.

One thing I really love about modern day Germans is that they're also very knowledgeable about their own history. In German schools they don't hide what happened in WW II or sugarcoat it. In the Netherlands where I'm from there was a discussion about not emphasizing the slave trade as much in our schools so we could be more proud of our heritage and that's absolutely not what we should be doing.

To be honest, as a teenager I always wanted to go to the US and live there. Now as an adult I am so glad that I wasn't born in the US and I'm not really interested to spend a day of my vacation there. I'd rather go somewhere else.

But how do we get in these countries? I’m seriously willing to be a mail order bride at this point. This country is never going to change for the better.

She's right learned this in 80's. While stationed there. Miss Germany so lovely and clean.

Love your work Ally. Huge culture shock for us moving from Australia to the USA with 4 kids, thought, western country must be the same. Wow was I wrong. Kids are so glad when we moved back.

The idea itself that there is such thing as a perfect country is ridiculous to me. There will always be things which work better in one country and worse in another. That's because everycountry has its unique government, society, geography, and history. But as we know there are countries which are known to get a lot of things right to the point where it shapes its reputation.

I really like your channel since it provides a new perspective to people who aren't very knowledgeable about a lot of different countries outside of their own! Keep it going!

I keep telling this to my sister, but she is dead set on her move to USA. I am making a little apartment ready for when my nephews will want to come back

I think content like yours is very important. Most citizens in the US really have no clue.

I wish I had the resources to move out of the USA.

As an American born and raised I really hate it here but it’s sooo difficult to move out of my “crazy parents who hate their children” ie the US’s house. Plus I have 2 dogs that would make the process even harder

(German here): I know a lot of people that dream or fantasize about living in Italy, Sweden, New Zealand, Japan...
But nobody who wants to live in the USA.
I know, anecdotal evidence, but still makes you think.
