Colon cancer is often called the silent killer because there may be no symptoms until the tumor has become large enough to cause problems.

Over 100,000 new cases of colon cancer are reported each year in the U.S. It is actually the third most common cancer in both men and women, and is responsible for nearly 50,000 deaths each year.

Colon cancer is a disease in which the cells in the large intestine become abnormal and multiply uncontrollably.

While there's no way to know for sure whether colon cancer will develop, there are some early symptoms that might indicate a problem. Some signs mentioned in this video may be subtle, while others may be more obvious.

I'm a 7 year surviver of stage 4 co rectal cancer. There was just one sign that I had that you never listed. My motion would come out pencil thin, at first occasionally then every time. It was that symptom that had my GP send me immediately for colonoscopy. After changes in my diet, lifestyle etc, surgery to remove cancer & 6 weeks with a bag, I'm blessed to be fitter/healthier at 67 than I was 10 years ago. 🙏🕊️

I lost my brother in 2019 from colon cancer that spread to his liver as well. He fought a long hard battle for 3 years before he died. My sister died from a stroke at age 50 in 2016. A few months later my brother was diagnosed with colon cancer and he was only 52. My sisters daughter died in a car wreck in 2021 and my dad died in July of this year from heart failure. It's been such a hard few years. I miss them all so very much. 😥

I had a colonoscopy few years ago. Got a clean bill of health and no polyps thankfully. I got back for my second colonoscopy in 3 years. I’m a 15 year breast cancer survivor.

I'm so thankful my doctor was proactive and got me in for a colonoscopy. They caught my colon cancer at stage 2 and
I got the resection surgery right away. It's been 5 years and I get checked often. Don't ignore any signs.

My Mother died of colon cancer at 67. All the chemo & radiation did nothing but make her sicker. They should just tell you you are dying instead of putting her through that.

I'm glad you made it clear that these symptoms may signal other issues besides cancer. The point is, if something seems wrong, don't sit and suffer, see your doc!

I had a screening colonoscopy endoscopy and full abdominal ultrasound in 2104 and again last year and got a clean bill of health. I cannot express how much peace of mind getting those done bring .

Be careful of the “medical” industry scaring you into “cancer” diagnosis. Eat well, avoid sugar and fats, drink water and exercise regularly.

My uncle was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last year at the age of 50. He told the doctors he was experiencing signs of colon cancer at the age of 30. I plan on talking to my physician about this now that I know it can be hereditary.

I have IBS with diarrhoea sometimes, I never suffered with constipation luckily and pray I never will as it must be an awful feeling. Praying for those with any type of cancer.

I had a neighbor who died from colon cancer. He had zero symptoms, until it was too late. He got really constipated for about two weeks. Went to the doctor; stage 4 cancer. Dead in less than 3 months.

I'm 56 and had changes in bowel habits since I was 5 years old. Diagnosed with IBS aged 45 and had to totally change my diet and lifestyle. So far so good.

I'd been suffering from chronic constipation for months before I was diagnosed. My gp wasn't helping and told me a colonoscopy wasn't necessary. A year later I finally got the colonoscopy but it couldn't proceed because of a TUMOR the size of an orange. This was why passing a stool was as painful as childbirth ... My colon was almost entirely blocked. This was 11 years ago. Don't ignore these symptoms.

I think that dehydration can cause hard stools too - they lack water & are harder to pass.
