Pomona Health Career Ladder began in 2008 at Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. Since then, during each academic year, local students at the middle and high school level attend six monthly Saturday workshops where more than 80 WesternU student volunteers from most of the nine colleges lead the workshops inspiring students at an early age to the spectrum of health care professions.

In Fall 2011, WesternU added American Indian Health Career Ladder to its Pomona campus and added Lebanon Health Career Ladder to its Lebanon, Oregon campus.

WesternU is committed to our communities, and community engagement is central to the WesternU core mission: To produce, in a humanistic tradition, health care professionals and biomedical knowledge that will enhance and extend the quality of life in our communities. ACE builds the relationships and partnerships with others across our community that provide pathways for student success. One of our hopes and dreams is that every student will understand they have an equal opportunity to succeed in life, in school, and in college.
