I'd still main her if she never got reworked, she was 10x more fun (but probably cause lvl 6 was almost always a kill)

Some information you were missing.
Her old, old passive. Once you reached a small threshold of AD and AP you gained some effects. This is the key reason gunblade and the 2 stacking items were so popular on her.

AD became spell vamp, and AP increased a ratio of your AD that you did on-hit.
So upon reaching 10 AD, you gained 10% spell vamp + 1% per 20 AD
Upon reaching 20 AP, your auto-attacks dealt 10% more damage as magic damage, increasing by 1% per 5 ability power.
That turned into the 2-hit passive where 1 dealt increased damage, and the other healed you.

This meant that most people just went gunblade then pure AP (this was the era where 1000 AP was easily attainable) but it also left her more open to AD builds and it wasn't uncommon to see heavy spell vamp builds that relied on her E being spammed in shroud. Akali, Vlad, and Swain were the reasons spell vamp on AoE was nerfed.

2016-2017 akali could be played in the jungle and work. That was peak akali for me.

It would be nice to see a Classic League of Legends like they did with classic wow. Being able to see how it originally was compared to what it actually became. Maybe even getting the chance to play twisted tree lines again? =D

I love Akali's new kit because it specializes on assassinating a single target at a time which is very fitting for her character.

Riot should make a game mode where you can play the OG champs (OG poppy was the GOAT hypercarry) with the OG items on the OG maps. You could choose which patch of champ to play and have access to every iteration of every item. Both teams would vote on which map to play; meaning every version of every map ever released.

ngl i feel like the rework was not oonly to modernize her for the meta but also for lore cuz it says that she rejects shen's teachings with close combat kama whacking and put her own spin on it and now uses hit and run tactics

I sometimes miss the season 4-5 Akali, when (along with Kata) you could basically bang your head on the keyboard and had good chances to get a triple <3

Mejais and Sword of the Occult used to be so OP for her spell vamp and you just never die lol
