Thanks for watching y'all ❤. If we make another one of these, which styles would you like to see?

Ok high key-- This is a massive dub for animators, wtf. So many dances, slow mo, and breakdowns in a single video. Explanations of the basics and even some history. I've struggled to collect animation reference this good in all my 20+ years of drawing. INCREDIBLE work.

This should be in the first video all beginners dancers must watch. Not just genres but also a bit of the history, respect the origin. This is great, Steezy!

History and context are SO important and I love how everyone emphasized that here. Especially for dances rooted in THE culture. It is disrespectful to siphon those dance forms and not pay homage to the communities and struggles that birthed them.

Please make a part 2 including belly dance, heels, Contemperary, jazz, house and others. Thanks Steezy ❤

I've been b-boying for years. If I knew, or practiced, other styles today, I would be a much better b-boy. Just by watching how other dancers interpret their dance and the music, there is a lot of inspiration that you can get from dances besides your own

To the producers, editors, writers & team that no doubt spent MONTHS researching, sourcing, organizing, and getting all these choreographers together to compile such a beautiful and knowledgeable video, thank you. To the choreographers sharing their talent and the history of these dances, thank you. To the communities and folks that created these dance styles, even deeper thank you. Jobs feed us, but dance & the arts feed our souls and enrich our lives in enumerable ways.

I love how most of their personality matches their dance style like ballets girl is calm and bhangra girls are energetic

So we're all just going to ignore they got Don Campbell's son for the locking section?
Steezy has the most clout.
Getting respect from everybody.

Shuffle, breakdance, waving, locking were my personal favourites.

But the presenter for dancehall and ballet were so well spoken and chill.

aweee seeing Dennis Danehy talking on the history and about his father like that is just sooo beautiful! That was finally the most comprehensive and true dance list for locking I've seen since being only on Youtube. Like when people doing wrist rolls kinda do it just in one place.

As a shuffler and as others have pointed out, it is crucial to also include the "T-Step" along with the Running Man as the foundational moves. These two together is what makes shuffling and the illusion that one is gliding through the dance floor. Also as someone from the Chicagoland area, "Mike n Ikes" is not a name used in shuffling. As you said, it has a lot of names and shuffling commonly uses "Crab" like from hiphop or "Heel Toe", but the name "Mike n Ike" is directly referencing Chicago Footwork. While the move is very similar, the name and style differentiate the two. Look up Chicago Footwork by King Charles and Pause Eddie and you'll see where "Mike n Ikes" comes from. I love that the video is showing a glimpse of the history of each dance so it's important to know these terms and where they came from! Otherwise cool video!

One thing that I really love about being a (mostly) self-taught dancer is that I've never noticed all the different styles that I've incorporated into my choreographies!

I'm mainly a hip-hop, shuffler and waving + whacking dancer, but I've recently looked into breaking to spice up my solo performances. It's amazing how you could use multiple styles in one choreography to compliment each other!

I’m SO glad yall made this!!

It’ll be so helpful to send to folk who ask me “Where should I get info to become a better dancer?”

It helped me learn some history of styles too! The founder of locking’s son was SO COOL to present!
Also we love Gravity

I'm so stoked to see Jaja on here, I've been a fan of hers since she was on ABDC with IAMME. For people who don't know, she's also an amazingggg krumper too. Krump looks so fun and immensely complicated and layered and I want to learn it. Honestly i want to combine a bit of a lot of these dances. I feel like as a dancer I'm a mix of vogue, robot, and krump. And sprinkle in some litefeet too because that looks so fun!

Great video! Only wish they threw in "House". Always loved that style. Hopefully they can make a part 2 in the future.

Love how you guys ordered the appearances of the styles and actually covered so many styles I had no idea existed!

(Ngl I was waiting to see locking and I ended up watching the whole video just to see it at the end. I guess that's one way to get more watch time haha)
