It's mind blowing that many people still follow someone like Logan Paul. The story is the same with MeetKevin and Graham Stephen. Many followers keep letting them off the hook, so they repeat their scams.

As someone who's been involved in ~5+ defamation cases, I'm unsure if the anti-SLAPP would be the best way to go anyway.

In many jurisdictions it has a fee shifting provision that is punitive if you lose the motion.

I'm sure they'll file a MTD anyway.

Also, judges are very hesitant to grant the anti-SLAPP unless it's something clear like outside the Statue of Limitations.

Stephen should serve them with Discovery and set a deposition date.

Regarding discovery, it will take YEARS to get (including multiple MTCs) and he may not ever get it....

I'm sure Logan Paul's lawyers will do everything possible to not produce Discovery.

I also don't think we'll EVER be able to review the Discovery, and it's possible that Stephen himself never sees it.

Discovery is not filed and anything that's produced will likely be marked confidential and, potentially, only available to Stephen's counsel and not Stephen himself (it's called "for attorneys eyes only").

I also don't believe that never having defended a defamation claim before is good. It's a different dynamic - but I don't feel strongly about this point.

Each case is different and a lot depends upon the randomness of the judge and the magistrates.

But yeah, this could go on for years...

Paul will likely drop it in return for a permanent injunction and non-disparagement agreement.

And if Stephen signs that, we likely will never know either.

I think that Stephen needs to actually win this case to avoid others from going after him.

Remember that judges don't care who Stephen is and who Logan Paul is.

If anything, Paul has the upper hand since it's assumed that Plaintiffs filed for a reason (judges usually assume that a filed case has merit).

I think Stephen already had a compelling case that Logan was conspiring to maliciously selling zoo tokens because Stephen obtained and showed the teams chat logs from the project wherein logan talks to Jake and eddie about a stealth launch so they can buy tokens pre announcement and Logan gets mad about the market cap price of the zoo tokens going down. But during discovery hopefully they are able to find even more incriminating messages and evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Logan intended to sell tokens but that Jake and eddie just started selling before logan behind his back.

Remember, Logan Paul went to Japan to harass people and based on what I can find on Google when you try to find if he apologised for that or if he only apologised for the Japanese forest incident because he was terrified of being cancelled, you only find the Japanese forest apology.

Based on that, it should have been as obvious as day that, since even now, no apologies have been given for him harassing people in another country, he has learned absolutely jack and doesn't care or even think what he did was wrong. So the fact people still actually like him, is why I am baffled.

Logan and Jake Paul are some of the worse human beings out there and people who not only still work with them, like them or do anything with them, they are why those 2 feel invincible and do whatever they want. Shame.
