Keep in mind that a lot of the stuff Americans consider food is actually outlawed in the European Union because it contains ingredients which are considered hazardous to your health.

Who is missing Walmart ? Bacon lovers ? Go to a local butcher and ask for Schweinebauch. Smoked or raw, the will provide it. Ask them to cut it as thick or thin you want it. It is rather cheap and always fresh ! Chorizo ? Come on, look out for the real thing at spanish or portuguese shops.

Did people really think they couldn't get bacon in Germany? Really? We swim in pork, bro.
Other countries *make fun* about the amount of pork we eat here!

I think a big part of it is that Germans don't feel the strong pull of brand loyalty that Americans do. My friends from beyond the pond are inconsolable when it comes to finding the correct brand of a product that may well have a frankly superior alternative here in Germany. Germans just switch brands at the drop of a hat if something better/less expensive comes along.

Well I went to a Walmart when there were stores in Germany and believe me I was uninpressed. They had not one of the Items in your video. Only the regular German brands. They might have done better if they actually had american products. You in reality don't miss Walmart at all but the products from the US.

Back then an email between Defense Commissary Agency's executives had leaked, about how WAL-MART will be teaching us *huns* (that's the word used) how to sell groceries and how to provide courteous customer service.
And there's your answer why they failed. The arrogance, oh the arrogance.
In the meantime Defense Commissary Agency themselves are losing customers to the German supermarkets on the economy.
Why that is? Well, ...as I said: The arrogance, oh the arrogance. ^^

When I think about the amerikan cheese I'm questioning myself if it is made out of a little bit of milk

as a german i'm kinda weirded out by this brand obesession. if i went to the store and see that that they stopped carrying my brand of crackers, i'll just buy another brand one. meanwhils americans are sad that the can't get their favourite crackers on another freaking contienent...?

what is most shocking is that americans don't realize that many of these things kind of items can be purchased on the german economy or at least all of the ingredients available so you can make it yourself. video should be retitled what chemicals americans miss most.

Chorizo is actually of Spanish origin and that excells the US variants in all points and you get here of course, the original Spanish variant.

As far as importing stuff from Mexico, you can find real Mexican Salsa from the brand La Costeña at Edeka. It's thick and chunky like you said you like. You can also get real Mexican refried beans from the brand La Morena at Real in the international section.

All those American foods are high in fat, high in sugar, high in salt and super high in calories. Nobody needs it unless you want to get fat.

I'm German and I do miss companies like Costco and Walmart But at the same time I don't miss them becuase.... reasons. No worker's council allowed, that's enough for me to not buy at Walmart. Though if you think about it, if Walmart had wanted to adopt to German laws, they would have been a major success. But as it stands, WM have a terrible reputation in one of the largest markets in the world.

The thing with feminin products is that while in the USA they have applicators in Germany they don't.
That's actually the only difference I know of.

For those interested about feminine products. Usually in the U.S. every tampons comes with an applicator / insertion aid each. In Germany tampons don't have these aids

Have those Americans in germany you asked about this stuff never been to a proper sized supermarket in germany?
Lets make a list.
Bacon: EVERYWHERE only some lidls dont have it. they even have it in Organic supermarkets that dont carry much meat. also you can get whole uncut pieces of speck at alot of places.
Ranch: you can get it in alot of supermarkets but it contains a bit more vegetables and is creme orange. Its also disgusting.
Cheesesnacks: will be hard to find the same because american cheese is not used in anything in europe. but there are cheese snacks in germany,
Salsa: Every supermarket, its with the other sauces.
Queso: only bigger supermarkets and very limited selection, right next to the Chips.
Chorizo: cant find the mexican one in germany, but the original spanish one can be bought in alot of supermarkets or even fresh.
Refriedbeans: that will be hard to find. only big supermarkets with big selections for "exotic"stuff.
American cheese: impossible.
Bagel: Bakeries and the freshbaked parts of supermarkets, the unbaked stuff is vile
Pancakes: that will be hard, there is premixed stuff in the bottle, but thats all. Its hard since there are already so many different pancake styles around. like the super fluffy and way superior Kaiserschmarrn...
Costumes: only seasonal in the Winter or in other shops with kids sections.
Mayo: dont buy german ones, buy eastern european stuff. super rich. also you showed Aioli thats something different and you can find it in pretty much every supermarket.
Cheerios: there should be an equivalent maybe in a different shape
sweet tea: thats hard, Eistee is 99% of the market and most of it is very very disgusting.
Cheesesnacks part 2: Snacks are something pretty regional and you maybe not find the cheesebased snacks you like. there are plenty and you will find the right cheesebased snack for your taste, or just eat Erdnussflips like germans.
Blue jeans: there are supermarkets with all kinds of clothing but most people just go to H&M if they need cheap cloth.
Cards: alot of supermarkets and other shops, even gasstations but mostly for normal reasons like birthdays.
Twinkies: those are illegal outside of the US
Candles: you can buy cheap scented ones in alot of supermarkets. but there is another kind of supermarket in germany thats more about hygiene products and stuff like that and you can find Scented Candles in DM, Rossmann and Mueller-
BBQ sauce: thats hard.
Bologna sausage is Fleischwurst in germany, Lyoner is alot finer and higher in quality.
Cakemix/browniemix: Every Supermarket. there are a couple of brands but you can find Dr.Oetker mixes pretty much everywhere.
Peanutbutter: thats hard, we have 2 very generic ones from a couple of brands and very expensive organic stuff.
Blackhair products: well i have no idea, but there is so much out there that you should be able to find something from a major brand that works.

Peanutbutter is available a ton in my not far away small city, even a lot of American brands. You just need to find a wholesale store and get a card to access it, then you can pretty much get a ton of brands. But the best Peanut butter comes from the Netherlands, called Calve Pindakaas😉

Salsa is really easy - I always make my own, too.

US mayonaise is based on soya bean oil, which tastes not as good as sunflower oil used in germany/europe.

I noticed that american mayonaise is much thinner, more like a creme or spread. German mayonaise is more like a pudding.
