I picked this up Tuesday for $15 at Best Buy and gawd damn T2 looks good in 4K. Opening scene I saw more hairs hanging off Arnold's chest I didn't know was there. The colors had real nice pop outside the bar when Arnold gets on the bike with good highlights and color depth. The ending starting with the helicopter chase looked extremely good with great depth and HDR color pop. When driving in the desert I noticed facial scars on John I never knew was there. Sara Connor wrinkles were deeper, and I could make out a hell of a lot more peach fuzz on her body. Now there's a few soft scenes hear and there, some scenes the DNR made the characters look a bit like wax, but nothing offensive. Overall I say 8.5, I like this 4K transfer better than Inception which came off as flat and fuzzy to me.

Guys he’s not quite right the 3D version is excellent. Get both the 3D and Skynet Editions and make up your mind. I thought the CG and models looked better in the 3D version but Skynet Edition (2009) has the blue hue tint and extended scenes put back in. Can’t go wrong with either.

I bought this UHD Blu ray after watch your vid and several others who hated this transfer. I thought it was fantastic looking. i tend to not enjoy grain. I buy HD TV's for clarity. Like my photos I take with my DSLR. I don't want any grain ruining the crisp, sharp image. Thats just me tho.

To be fair, the transfer was _really_ intended for 3D, and they probably would have done it differently if it weren't for that. Predator 3D, Jurassic 3D, and Top Gun 3D also had that waxy look, and it likely helps the 3D. Grain is probably very problematic for doing 2D-3D conversion. Shame they went through all the trouble to make it 3D, and in the process ruined the 4K with the heavy DNR, only to have the 3D blocked from the market.

How is the blu ray in this set. I don't own a T2 blu ray. Is it worth getting this for the blu ray disc?

The 3d looks great for a movie made in 91 not filmed for 3d, great job converting this classic.The depth and occasional pop outs, mainly guns. All the chase seems look dope. I highly recommend this for anyone that is big on the 3d experience. Relive this classic in a new dimension.

I saw this movie in 3d not too long ago was just amazing to get the chance to see it in a cinema was such a highlight. Il defo get the 3d version but not 4k. Great review aswell

I did buy 4k blu-ray disc Terminator 2 ： Judgement Day last year despite of your review on the video as 4.0.So i watched this movie in 4k blu-ray disc，and to my big surprised the video quality is 9.0 to me！This movie as if it was recently made，when i watched it i felt this very fresh new movie！Lucky of me that i did buy this 4k blu-ray disc movie Terminator 2 ： Judgement Day！I trust my eyes！

Did they rerelease the 4K with upgrades at any point because I own 3 copies on 4K (Original Amaray, and 2 of the 2021 Best Buy Steelbooks) and they all look and sound fantastic. The reviews I’ve seen over the last 4 years honestly feel like they’re reviewing a totally different disc.

It's so funny reading the comments... "The digital age" is really speaking here... People are used to clean-looking stuff, they just don't realize that movies made back then was filmed on film negative and had natural grain in them. GRAIN = DETAIL. People have to know that. That you prefer your images to suffer from less detail so you can get a "cleaner" looking image, that's totally up to you. But it's not a faithful representation of the film nor is it the one with as much detail as 4K can and should allow.

I may be in the minority, but I saw the remastered presentation in 3d back in 2017, I loved it. I didn't get to see t2 back in theaters in 1991, I went to see the rocketeer instead. for me the video\ audio was the other way around. Like I said, the visual look of the movie didn't bother me, but the audio was soft for the movie in theaters, and this is coming from someone who own the ultimate edition dvd and both the dts-es mix as well as the movie's original stereo mix really packed a punch. My subwoofer shook like crazy everytime something blew up, or when Arnold fired his shotgun.

If you have 2015 bluray of terminator 2 and hate dnr I recommend staying with that copy

I picked this up at a rather high price tag, and I must admit I share some of the same thoughts. The detail in faces is pretty awesome. I spotted some new elements that I never noticed before. What really messed with my head is the weird color correction that gives the image a light greenish and more modern look. Particular in the outdoor L.A. scenes during daylight. This looks out of place for a 90's movie that is known for more natural color schemes. All in all I'm not disappointed, but compared to other 4K re-releases, this can't be Cameron-approved.

Only negative is that it was edited. A lot of the editing bloopers were edited out. Kinda missed those after seeing this movie for the umpteenth time!
