I've met Gene twice. Very cordial guy. He knows who he is. He's confident and sure. But he's cool enough to say hi and chit chat for a sec, which is more than I can say for an awful lot of people.

I first heard Van Halen on WABX radio when Gene Simmons was guest DJ for two hours. He talked about this great new group named after two brotherswho were going to release an album soon. He played Running With The Devil demo. I thought it was great. Gene pushed and promoted the band when nobody was listening. Van Halen couldn’t get arrested with a gun for a long time. We can literally thank Gene for a big part of the bands emergence.

Just say I say a ducked up thing and I regret it. Saying I hurt his feelings is pretty derogatory. People are supposed to stand up for theirselves, just as DLR did. But props for GS making a statement as he has, good job, all these guys were great and a big part of my youth, as well as adult life, for me it wasn't comic books, it was great rock and roll like these guys got to be so lucky to be the best in the greatest Era of rock.
