Wood Cube Within a Cube. Drill press woodworking.

This curious Project Trick never fails to Catch the Eye, no matter how many times we watch how to make a wood cube within a cube or how many times we hold it in our hands. A cube within a wooden cube seems very easy to make when we know the trick and the step by step using a drill press. But when we get down to work, we may be surprised to find that it's really not such a simple woodworking project.

In this video, we see some tips and tricks necessary to adjust the depth of the Forstner bit and the position in which we are going to drill all the faces of the original wooden cube on the drill press. And of course, I show my mistakes and how in the end I manage to make this curious wood figure.

I made one of those a couple years ago with my carving knives alone. I made the Inner cube round. It took some time but well Worth it.
