TIDIRC: Introduction to Dissemination & Implementation Science

This lecture provides an overview of the rationale and underpinnings of D&I research, parses the similarities and differences among dissemination research, research dissemination, implementation research, and pragmatic research, introduces central D&I research concepts, and discusses current research areas and future opportunities. This session is part of the curriculum for the Training Institute in Dissemination and Implementation Research in Cancer (TIDIRC). Research on dissemination and implementation (D&I) seeks to address the gap between what we know can optimize health and what gets implemented in practice by understanding how best to ensure that evidence-based strategies to improve health and prevent disease are effectively delivered across settings.
