This one has mixed results in my experience. Flipper’s antenna isn’t nearly as strong as the one the vets use for finding tags so it sometimes can’t read animal tags.

That being said, I didn’t buy this to read animal tags. If I wanted to read them, I would have bought purpose built hardware. It is just generally cool that my flipper can sometimes read dog tags! Works for one of my dogs but not my larger one.

Also you will just get the number. There is no open database of owner info so once you get the number you call the chip company to say you have the found pet.
