I've ridden up and down the south side of the pass. It's very nice. Though I have to imagine there are other roads in Vietnam that I'd enjoy more.

Hai Van seems a bit overrated to me, but then it could just be that I've been spoiled by the scenic riches of California. That said, I love the views of Danang and Danang Bay on the way south.
