I just realised Roses is one of the very few purely progressive songs in FNF.
Rather than being a straight challenge with patterns that eventually repeat themselves for you to get used to, it is instead a song of escalation, where it starts easy but each unique pattern gets harder and harder than the last one.
That's probably why I love the song so much because it's progressive.

I don’t know why, but besides Monster this is the first time I had felt like I was battling in the game. I was just on the edge of my seat, and honestly the combination of hatred and the tone of the music made it actually really intense. Felt less intense playing thorns.
