Connors was the anti-Borg. The antithesis of cool.

I was on tour as a trainer on USTA and Connors was a jerk....mean and held grudges.

Connors record is better than Mcenroe's. More titles and more Grand Slams. Much more longevity too!

McEnroe is what matters! His life is the way he wanted. Playing for the USA is huge!! Winning the Davis Cup was the biggest country versus Country - TEAM game then. Representing your country and wearing the USA on your back was a super important meaning for McEnroe and I respect him for that. At the time there was not Tennis in the Olympics and the Davis Cup did truly mean something. Winning for your Country and showing which Nation could put together the best TEAM was important at the time. Super important. And for sure Connors record is not 100% better than McEnroe's. Mac won more titles overall than Connors singles & doubles combined. McEnroe has 3 Wimbledon Titles, Connors 2. Mac has 4 US Open titles. Connors 5. McEnroe was ranked #1 in both Singles and Doubles, Connors was not.
