The Russian government has long targeted YouTube as it became the main platform for Russian political opposition. Besides, YouTube was the main and only platform for entertainment content like travel, cooking and lifestyle videos. But those days are over -- we are abandoning this Western woke soy anti-Russian project called YouTube -- and are moving to... RuTube?

In this video, I'll discuss Russia's ban on YouTube, the impact of YouTube's ban on Russia-based monetization accounts (including how it affects my channel), how people are bypassing the block, and the Russian alternatives to YouTube.

I heard from Niki Proshin’s channel few days ago that he did not change his Adsense from Russia based and is now scrambling to try to fix his monetization cut off. You were wise to cut all ties to Russia before the cut off started. Wishing you the best.

Very smart Natasha! Most people wishfully think things can't become worse and don't prepare for it. I'm glad you did! 👍

i was in russia just two days ago for a festival and I was not able to use youtube even with the majority of vpns i usually use except one. least time I was in russia before my recent visit to Kaloga and Moscow last week was around 8 years ago and I have to say that I'm shocked about the extend of the internet censorship, even thought I'm from Iran and we also have heavy filtering on the internet.i could feel the fear and stress in the air, felt like a proper police state. i don't have a good feeling about where Russia is heading to from here, I really hope things change and you ppl are able to restore at least some of the freedom that was taking away from you in the recent years.

Frankly I am astonished to learn that all Russian accounts were not banned about 2 years ago.

I'm so happy to hear you're doing relatively well! And there is a German word that gets used by English speakers that is similar to "zloradstvovat" in meaning - it is "Schadenfreude", which is a combination of "Schaden" (harm) and "Freude" (joy). So it means taking joy in the harm or suffering of your enemies, .

Dear Natashia I have been following you for a long time and you still keep amazing me. In spite all the troubles you have faced you are still figthing and standing tall. We are many who stand by you and your work is NOT unnoticed ind “the West” 😊 I can tell you. But please please be careful, there are som pretty powerfull forces out there. When or if you feel seriously threaten, dont hesitate to “jump the wall” as we said in the 80`ties. All the best, Ken😘

Some YouTube creators are a target for phishing attacks. I hope you are careful when reading your e-mail because someday an operative for the government of your home country will target you with a fake message about your account having been compromised. Do not click a link in that e-mail when you get it, but just go through the normal channel to verify the security of your accounts.

Thanks!
No just a 'smart girl', a moral one with integrity and despite the anxiety I think you also show fortitude.

It just gets more & more grim for poor Russia — so unfortunate that one man stands in the way of so many being able to live normal lives, in a normal, peaceful country. One man responsible for so much unnecessary death & destruction. Wonder when they’re going to connect the dots & do something!??

I just moved to Latvia to teach English at a university here. I was surprised to see so many Ukrainian flags "flying" in Riga. They are everywhere, including on every bus and tram door on public transportation.

In German the phrase for enjoying the suffering of others is "Schadenfreude". There is no word in English to compare so In fact we use the word schadenfreude

Hi Natasha, I'm from Australia and have been watching your videos since before the war began. I'm so glad that you're still able to make them. Originally i was watching them to find out more about Russia from a tourist's perspective but now the channel has morphed into something else. Keep up the good work!
