Our top choice is Elmedi. I have been using VLC for years from Windows to Mac. But it's not really good on mac compare to IINA.
IINA-plus has a very good support for HDR content. It loads online video (HTTP) much much faster than VLC.
If you have a M1 2021 macbook pro with XDR display then IINA-plus is your best choice.

I'm tired of fighting Apple's Music app for MacOS. It seems to get WORSE with ever version. It cares more about upselling you content than it does making it easy to manage the music you already own. A top 3 (5?) music players for MacOS would be good — and any in any software review you do, you should tell us if the app natively supports Apple Silicon, or if Rosetta is required.

Thank you. All I want this for is to play my Battlestar Galactica BluRay discs, but I heard that Elmedia doesn't support protected DVD's. I don't know if my Battlestar Galactica BluRay discs (which I bought on Amazon) are protected or not, so I don't know if Elmedia will play on my MacBook Pro (which I bought in 2013).

voce me salvou mano, mais, depois percebi que os videos so não abrem por ser baixado na extensão errada... mudando para MP4 ou WMV quase todo video abre mesmo no app do pc ... muito obrigado, abraços de angola em Africa .
