China’s role in Africa reflects one of the most significant shifts in global alliances and economic power dynamics over the past decade. In 2024, China's trade with Africa increased nearly 5 per cent year on year. Initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative, Beijing’s plan to grow global trade, and the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation have contributed to the rise of China as the continent's top trading partner. Despite its domestic economic slowdown, China’s relationship with African nations is evolving as Beijing shifts towards public-private partnerships and engaging financial institutions for project funding rather than traditional government-to-government loans. Trade is also diversifying, with Africa exporting more non-resource goods like coffee and avocados to China. In this video, Africa expert Hannah Ryder and Post Africa correspondent Jevans Nyabiage discuss the evolving China-Africa economic partnership.

1. Some high-level officials in some African countries are too corrupt!
2. Some wealthy people in Africa are very obsessed with the West!
I suddenly remembered what an African leader said:
We went to the United States to attend a meeting, and they picked us up by bus!
We went to China to attend a meeting, and they picked us up by high-end concierge cars!

There are two kind of debt, productive debt and consumptive debt. Loan to build infrastructure is productive debt. Without proper infrastructure economy will not grow. All poor nation struggle to get infrastructure loan from rich countries. If Chinese loan is so bad, why don't the West come with their own package of low interest loan for Africa. That's right they won't, because the risk is high, low yield and long term. They don't won't to help, but they smear those who want to help.

I hope the Africa-China partnership stays strong for centuries. When Africa becomes powerful in a couple of decades, the two together can hopefully create a more just and fair world. African and Chinese culture and morals are very similar in many ways. Long live Sino-Africa partnership.

Africa gains little from the United States overall. In fact, many atrocities on the continent have been either directly or indirectly influenced by American policies or actions. For example, between 1960 and 1990, the U.S. was linked to over 20 covert operations in Africa, including supporting regimes and rebel groups that destabilized nations. Additionally, studies show that American corporations have extracted billions of dollars worth of resources from African countries while contributing minimally to local economies. These actions demonstrate why America can be considered one of Africa's top adversaries. My people, wake up and see the truth.
