I get SO FRUSTRATED when this happens. I'll be blending my foundation and the beauty blender will literally pull off the foundation leaving a giant hole in my foundation. Some spots will stay in place while others will just lift off and not stick to my skin. I'm going to have to do a little bit of trial and error to find out what works best for me.

I’ve got dry skin with lots of acne scars and folliculitis so I’m often dealing with dry patches and/or redness to cover but full coverage foundation looks crazy on me so I’ve just mastered spot concealing and using skin tints and I get compliments on how “real” my makeup looks all the time

I am supposed to be doing an essay but this just came out as I was getting distracted and putting on makeup HAHAHA, my skin texture has been TERRIBLE and no matter how much or little base makeup I use, my face looks awful. THANK YOU ROBERT! You are saving me and my heavy insecurities 🩵

I have extremely oily skin, I also suffer with some texture, acne and my pores are large. I use elf toner and moisturizer, and a tiny layer of elf setting spray before applying foundation with a beauty blender (I get it wet and ring it out before I start anything, and let it sit for a few) and a don't touch powder. It works really well for my face and has taken me years to perfect! I use the occasional primer (very thin layer) on my cheeks and around my nose if I'm particularly dry and oily that day. He's right, it takes time but it's so worth it! Thanks Robert for teaching me how to find what works for my skin✨💜

Oh my gosh I love that he called out the ridiculous trend of just pouring foundation all over your face! Such a pet peeve of mine, its dumb 🙄

I do think I often use too much skincare to combat the dry patches all over. I hate when foundation clings to any dryness. I've learned that I don't like setting powder really. I've ruined my make-up so many times trying to use it because it looks great and is so smoothing on everyone else. On me I look like a dinosaur with powder 😅

I'm not a fan of influencers dripping products, especially makeup products all over the skin for visual effects more than functionality because it is way too much product. People at home forget that they don't have studio lighting or high end cameras and it will look different at home and especially in natural lighting. I appreciate your approach to educate with a realistic viewpoint. I use the back of my hand as a palette for liquid/ cream products for myself and use a glass pallette when applying makeup on others. This method allows for an even base and better blending of contour, highlight and blush prior to setting with powder.

Stunning 🤩
I very rarely wear makeup due to excessive texture, wrinkles and crepey skin, but finally found a skin serum/foundation that suits me without turning orange! I'll experiment with some powders I've recently bought. Thanks for the tips

I never ever thought I'd apply oil before my makeup - being an oily person. BUT, your Beauty Bakerie baking oil tip has been MAGIC on my now combo 50yr old skin. I used it on the weekend for an event, and my makeup was flawless for 14hrs - THANK YOU!

good skincare routine both day and night helps a lot with my base makeup application. Keeping the dead skin minimal and the oil control from skincare are so helpful for me.

This is so helpful! I've been doing my make up for 15 years but lately I've been getting really patchy make up and it's so frustrating, I end up taking it off and starting again! Loving your eye looks lately, giving me loads of inspiration 🥳!

I never enjoyed MAC complexion products, but that mineralize skin finish powder was always really great and easy to use!

Thank you for this, Robert. I have given up on liquid foundation at this point because no matter how I prep my skin or what i use to apply, it just does not lay nicely. I always use mineral powder foundation. I will try liquid again, using really tiny amounts at a time! 🖤

Best tip from Robert I found was to blot my skin after prepping to remove excess product, my foundation stays on much better now!! 💜💚

The less is more foundation is soooo true, I've been doing this for the past few years now and my foundation looks the best it's ever been. I always use so tissue to dry out my beauty sponge so that its just soft and bouncy. Great video very helpful tips 👍
