Huge tip: learn frequently repeated phrases in the quran, and for non-arabic speakers, learn from a quran word frequency list from time to time. Reading the quran will put it all together. Memorising some verses that struck you can be milestone verses (e.g. for me 2:62)

Many verses/phrases appear frequently and are identical in multiple surahs. For example, you may memorise 1 phrase but that sentence appears say 20 times in the quran - you just learnt 20 sentences in 1 go! And to learn arabic words, I recommend going through the quran vocabulary frequency list, so you learn 1 word that occurrs thousands of times, followed by the next most frequently appearing word. May Allah ease us in learning His beautiful word. Ameen.

I am almost done memorizing AlhamdulillAh put me in your duah and my whole school and teachers . My tip is as a non Arabic speaker, my school is unique in that we do tafsir and memorization together. So we first learn the meanings in class and then when I want to memorize I’d read the meaning of the ayah and then repeat that aya with a qaari 10 times (in the beginning in my first year I used to do 20 times ), then 10 without looking at the mushaf (20 in the past). This will be tweaked based on the difficulty of the ayah. Knowing the meaning helps tremendously and AlhamdulillAh I know what I am reciting now

I do have a background because I am from northern Nigeria where we start to learn Quran from toddler ages. But then this generation abandons it to pursue western education and that’s what happened with me too. So we know the basic and my language is rich in Quran Arabic so much that we used to write our language in Arabic, but I still DO NOT SOEAK ARABIC. So I do have a strong background but I still believe this method is extremely helpful for even those who are new . It is a solid way to memorize the Quran

I memorised 3-4 pages every day, but it didn't come to me easily. I remember when I was a beginner at memorising the Qur'an I only used to do quarter of a page. But Subhann'Allah due to consistency and time I got used to the process and gradually improved day by day. Never underestimate your brain, once you get used to it, it flows into your brain with ease. Repetition and consistency is key.

I'm memorizing one page a week. First just reading and listening while reading Translation and connecting with the Ayaat then memorizing the page following with memorization of the Translation of that page in my mother tongue. I did like 20 pages already with fully understanding of all verses Alhamdulillah. I'm in no rush, kinda enjoy moving slowly

Quran has 6236 verses. If you memorise 5 a day, you'd memorise the entire quran in 3.4 years

The next 10 years is going to pass either way. Might as well start memorising now and see where it goes. Allah will help.

it is not a small change, it is memorizing 2x more than what one would normally memorize.

I think the best Advice is try your best at your capacity to memorize. InshaAllah you will be rewarded by Allah Azawajal. For younger individuals who grew up with reading and memorization will be different than someone who started at age 35 or 40. May Allah reward all who stay connected to the Quran, a guidance for all men and women until the hour.

I did 1 page everyday 1 year into memorization. And as time went by i used to do 2 to 3 pages per day
(We used a 16 lined Quran) I finished in 3 while going to school (it wasn't easy at all, i had a teacher so he kept me in discipline)
Just increase the amount you memorize as you go along. And keep revising the previous pages as you go.

The goal isn't to finish the Quran but to keep memorizing it regularly. Either by reading from the book or through memory.

Remember that Allah looks at your efforts too, not just your final result of your work/deeds

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Do good deeds properly, sincerely and moderately and know that your deeds will not make you enter Paradise, and that the most beloved deed to Allah is the most regular and constant even if it were little." - Sahih Bukhari 6464

We will only enter Jannah through Allah's mercy and He is always The Most-Merciful

Very helpful الحمد لله. We are looking for more content on this (Goal setting like 5 year, 2 year Memorisation plan along with solid mur'ajah)

What helped me the most is reading more frequently and consistently. You’ll pick up the verses with more ease.
