David, I'm 87 years of age, still trying to grasp at life's truths in political and social answers. Listening to you, and I have said this before, you speak with such clarity and the manner of your speaking is so impressive! Thank you for being you!

"I would rather have Newspapers without a Government, than a Government without Newspapers."

It's because the naming of the government subsidy is so different. When people get government handouts its called "socialist welfare" and corporate handouts are called "tax cuts"

I'm 63, and I usually would never say this....Kamala lost because of intense media disinformation and bomb threats at polling areas.
I've NEVER SEEN any campaign or person more inspiring, electric, hopeful & joyful than VP Harris in such a short period.
I'M DEVASTATED she isn't the one being inauguration 😢

I like the way David answers questions, without fear of contradicting viewers and without becoming defensive.

👍 sci-fi realism has a thumbs up from me because I have been on welfare and am now quite comfortably middle middle class. But this post shows the empathy and desire to uplift ALL people in a nation that seems to be lacking in the USA. No sensible gun control or universal health care support by republicans exemplifies that.

Senator Bernie Sanders on Economic Inequality in America
1. Wealth Distribution: "A nation will not survive morally or economically when, so few have so much, while so many have so little."
2. Political Power: "Are we prepared to take on the enormous political power of the billionaire class or do we continue to slide into economic and political oligarchy?"
3. Middle-Class Struggles: "For 40 years, the American middle class has been disappearing. Millions of people are working longer hours for lower wages despite a huge increase in technology and productivity. And what we have seen during that period is a massive transfer of trillions of dollars from the middle class to the top one-tenth of 1 percent of America — massive wealth and income inequality, where you have 99 percent of all new income today going to the top 1 percent."
4. Corporate Greed: "In the United States today we have the most unequal wealth and income distribution of any major country on earth -- worse than at any time since the 1920s. This is an economy that must be changed in fundamental ways."
5. Collective Action: "Let us wage a moral and political war against the gross wealth and income inequality... let us understand that when we stand together, we will always win."
6. Economic Justice: "This is what income inequality means in America, and why the gap between the very rich and everyone else is growing wider. According to a recent study, CEO pay is now 295 times more than the pay of a typical worker. In 1965, the differential was 20 times. We must create an economy that works for all, not just the top 1%."
7. Systemic Change: "Now is the time to alter our government. Now is the time to stop the movement toward oligarchy. Now is the time to create a government which represents all Americans and not just the 1%... No more excuses. We must all become involved in the political process."
8. Societal Dysfunction: "Today, the United States is No. 1 in corporate profits, No. 1 in CEO salaries, No. 1 in childhood poverty and No. 1 in income and wealth inequality in the industrialized world."
9. Unsustainable Economy: "Today, the top one-tenth of 1% owns nearly as much wealth as the bottom 90%. The economic game is rigged, and this level of inequality is unsustainable. We need an economy that works for all, not just the powerful."
10. "Message to the billionaire class: You can't have it all!"

An open mind and clear thinking is required to navigate these trying times.
Thank you for providing such a sterling example of these qualities.

Rich men have convinced poor people into doing their bidding for them. It's crazy!!! I had a friend upset about capital gains tax. I asked them if they were a millionaire. They said no. I asked why you were concerned then. They told me they heard about it on fox news, and it was bad.

I grew up with a single mom, she worked, no child support, we were on food stamps and Medicaid. Even when dad ended up very wealthy we stayed on govt help. It wasn’t my mom’s fault he left her to be a playboy and go have fun so that’s how we ended up there. People have no idea a backstory. I was embarrassed when at grocery store and my mom would pay with actual food stamp paper money, no plastic cards back then. I was a jerk bcuz I was embarrassed and would get pissy with my mom at checkout and walk away from her. I later apologized to her as an adult looking back and felt soooo bad for her I did that… 😢

David, I'm going to give you a great compliment and I hope you read this. I'm on the right wing, truly, but I listen to you. You know why? You are excellent at what you do. You are funny and u make it seem like u don't mean to be funny which is something I absolutely admire about u. It's difficult to get people who think differently to listen but there are a few who can. Jon Stewart, you, Bill Maher. I hope you continue to grow in your outreach because I admire your talent.

Very few Canadians would want to become the 51st state but I think there are some states down there like California, Washington state, Oregon and a few blue states in the east that would like to become Canadian provinces and we would be happy to consider that.🍁❤️🇨🇦

Many ppl are sheltered and want to stay that way. Other ppl being poor or homeless, they don't wanna see that or have to care about the- have nots. Thats the american mentality: "all for me, screw you." That's our cold hearted political system too. It sux. 😮

It will be content like this show, Luke Beasley, Meidas Touch, Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O'Donnell, that will see those of us who believe in the power of democracy through the next few years. It will not be easy but I feel like having all of you in our corner we might have a Fighting Chance. Thank you David!

Do we usually even think of cabinet picks as "dangerous?" This seems unique to the incoming people.... To my recollection, in the past, we maybe are "upset " about who won, but...scared? I can't remember that happening before this in my lifetime of nearly 60 years. 🤷‍♀️
